The Sea Shores of Chagos by Charles Sheppard

"In the Chagos Archipelago, there is an area between the top of the beach and the breaking waves at the edge of the reef flat where, to the human eye, conditions look idyllic. Above the high tide mark are picturesque overhanging palms, the beach itself suggests relaxation and enjoyment, and the shallow water out to the deepening edge is warm and filled with the many colourful forms of life which usually are known only from pictures in books. For relaxation and interest, the sea shore looks like the place to be."--excerpt page 1
